About the Role
Support Investment teams with reconciliations, asset servicing, investment accounting, reporting, and valuations for public or private assets. Assist with day-to-day evaluation, accounting, and monitoring of investment portfolios covering all security types and asset classes.
Responsibilities
- Partner with colleagues from Investment Departments, Finance, Legal, and Risk to assist in investment closings through documentation review, system setups, transaction entries and settlements.
- Help manage investment maintenance and servicing; ensure investments are accurately represented, track upcoming activity, reconcile records, and process activities.
- Assist in processing investments with the ability to understand impact on trading, reporting and performance.
- Assist in the quarterly & monthly valuation review; ensure valuation adjustments are accurately recorded and bring any errors or inconsistencies to management’s attention.
- Provide insightful valuation analysis.
- Identify and promptly escalate irregular activities or issues and assist management in determining corrective action.
- Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
- Maintain an ongoing effective working relationship with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved, financial controls and reporting requirements are met.
- Support in daily validation and reconciliation and sub-ledger of books and records related to position keeping, deal pipeline and trade lifecycle management.
- Continually strive for operational excellence; seek ways to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced controls and data integrity (with a focus on using Gen AI tools).
- Interest in Gen AI tools (including data parsing and scraping) and overall comfort with data.
- Passion for improving process with technology.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical, financial and management accounting skills.
- Strong Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems.
- Solid understanding of debt instruments and investment accounting.
- Sentry and SCD knowledge a strong advantage.
- LMA and LSTA documentation knowledge important.
