About the Role
The Director, Business Development will lead the firm's national business development efforts, driving revenue growth through client relationship expansion and acquisition. This is a hands-on role for a senior professional with strategic thinking, strong leadership, and client relationship management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive national business development strategy.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends.
- Collaborate with practice and specialty groups to grow existing client relationships.
- Lead the development of proposals, pitches, and presentations.
- Monitor and analyze business development metrics and KPIs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry influencers and external stakeholders.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
- Lead a team of approximately 15 business development professionals, providing direction, support, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years' experience in business development, preferably within a national law firm or professional services firm.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful business development strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience in managing large and diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Excellent presentation skills at the executive level.
- Experience in establishing processes and implementing them.
- Organized and adaptable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of CRM systems.
