About the Role
Seneca Health Care Center is seeking a temporary Subacute Coordinator-RN to join its nursing leadership team. This role involves overseeing daily operations of a nursing unit, ensuring high-quality resident care, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the activities of nursing staff on an assigned unit
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the overall management of resident care within the unit
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure care plans are developed, maintained, and updated as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families to support quality care outcomes
- Communicate staff concerns and operational issues to appropriate department leaders
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and nursing standards of practice
- Support staff development, coaching, performance management, and team engagement
- Assist with admissions, discharges, family communication, and resident care coordination
- Promote a safe, positive, and resident-centered environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current and valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required
- Minimum of one year of experience in nursing service administration required
- Additional experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing preferred
- Strong knowledge of state, federal, and local long-term care regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
- Must be flexible, dependable, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities
