About the Role

AECOM Tishman is seeking an MEP Entry Level Construction Project Engineer to join our team in New York, NY, starting September 2026. This role offers the opportunity to assist in overseeing construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to project plans and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing activities of construction crafts/trades within an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of sub-contractor activities within the area of responsibility.
  • Monitor subcontractor personnel to ensure adherence with project plans and promote quality control of all installations.
  • Review manpower, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Enforce policies, procedures, and work rules.
  • Assist with compliance of safety program to create a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ensure safety standards and requirements are adhered to by crafts/trades, laborers, and others.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Prepare reports and keep supervisors informed on progress of assigned activities.
  • Monitor work performance of subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedules are followed.
  • Review construction methods, schedules, manning charts, material and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external record keeping requirements, including accurate timecards and material delivery tickets.
  • Use current construction management system for record-keeping tasks, including composing daily diaries and maintaining project logs.
  • Provide assistance to assigned contractors in scheduling issues.
  • Monitor the project pre-plan, including CPM schedule, work sequences, manpower utilization, material handling, storage requirements, and equipment use.
  • Interface with client, architect, and design professionals to ensure compliance to design intent and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to building good communications between field management, project management, estimating, procurement, suppliers, vendors, and specialty contractors.
  • Ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Continuously expand and update professional knowledge and hone training skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Plumbing, Building Technology, or similar major.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to follow directions and interact with all levels of management on a working construction project.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
