About the Role
AECOM is seeking a self-driven and motivated Transportation Program Executive to serve as the VP, Program Management Consultant Lead in New Jersey and New York. This role requires extensive experience in program, design, and construction management within the Transportation sector, specifically Transit Rail, Highway Bridge, and Heavy Civil (Underground) Construction in the New York Metro market.
Responsibilities
- Directs and manages the entire project through all phases
- Responsible for delivery of a major program
- Provides leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and staff
- Enforces company and project policies
- Acts as primary liaison between AECOM and client interface
- Provide regular status briefings to Client
- Lead issue detection and resolution
- Confirms compliance with all facets of the project including commercial, design and construction
- Responsible for budget control, schedule and contract management
- Ensure proper staffing levels
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community representatives
- Implement and oversee a comprehensive risk management strategy for the project
- Ensure project adherence to sustainability and environmental guidelines
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve project efficiency and outcomes
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related scientific/technical field + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education including 4 years of leadership experience
- US Citizenship is required
- Professional Engineer in NY and NJ
- 20 years of experience in both design and construction management
- Experience with similar size projects, including those with aggressive schedules and comprehensive community information programs
- Construction / project management experience on transportation projects
- Experience in managing work, scope, budgets and schedules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to work within a paperless environment
- Experience working with NY and NJ Transportation clients
