About the Role
Provide support to Overnight Youth Care Specialist staff, ensuring they receive breaks to remain alert. Assist staff with milieu duties before and after breaks, and provide therapeutic support to youth with emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral challenges. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision to enhance the therapeutic milieu and address youth needs. This role operates during overnight hours as an awake and alert staff member across various residential programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to Overnight Youth Care Specialist staff.
- Ensure staff breaks are facilitated.
- Assist staff with milieu duties before and after breaks.
- Provide therapeutic and nurturing supports to emotionally, psychiatrically, and/or behaviorally challenged youth.
- Use learned skills and professional knowledge to bring about positive changes.
- Attend department team meetings and annual trainings.
- Participate in supervision.
- Carry out duties during overnight hours as an awake and alert staff member.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience working with youth in schools, residential treatment, or related settings required.
- Ability to physically carry out restraints, as necessary.
