About the Role
As our first dedicated Senior FP&A Manager, you will build the financial planning & analysis function from the ground up and report directly to the CFO. You will own the group's forecasting and planning engine, sharpen EBITDA, burn and liquidity steering, and be a core partner on fundraising, board reporting and go-to-market economics, including the cohort analytics that show how efficiently we acquire and retain clients. This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy role for someone who wants to build.
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the integrated group model (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) across both regulated entities, including consolidation logic.
- Run the annual budget and rolling re-forecast; translate strategy into a defensible operating plan and use-of-funds.
- Drive EBITDA, burn and liquidity steering; monitor runway and flag risks and levers early.
- Define and report the KPIs that matter (payslips, FTE, revenue per client, gross margin, CAC/retention) and build them into our BI dashboard.
- Prepare board and investor reporting; support future rounds with models and investor-grade materials.
- Build and own cohort analytics tied to go-to-market: retention, payback period, LTV/CAC and margin by acquisition channel and vintage. Turn these into concrete recommendations on spend and channel mix.
- Partner with Commercial and Service Operations leaders on unit economics, pricing, funnel efficiency and investment decisions.
- Design finance processes that scale with rapid headcount and entity growth; strengthen the finance stack and automate recurring reporting (incl. Qonto ↔ Stripe reconciliation logic), using AI and agentic tooling to make planning faster, cleaner and repeatable.
Requirements
- 5+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking or a comparable analytical finance role, ideally with high-growth / VC-backed / scale-up exposure.
- Expert financial modelling; you build clean, three-statement models and defend the assumptions.
- Fluent in unit economics, SaaS/recurring-revenue and cash metrics; comfortable turning messy data into decisions.
- Advanced Excel/Sheets; experience with BI/planning tooling (e.g. Looker, Power BI, Tableau or a dedicated FP&A tool) a strong plus.
- Operate in English and German; investor and board materials are produced in English.
- Hands-on, structured, comfortable with ambiguity and first-of-role ownership in a scaling environment.
- Default to AI and agentic tools to automate the repetitive and build leverage — you think in reusable processes and systems, not one-off spreadsheets, so finance scales faster than headcount.
- Degree in finance, business or a quantitative field; CFA, MBA or qualified-accountant background welcome.
- Exposure to regulated industries (payroll, tax, financial services) or professional-services / accounting economics.
- Hands-on experience with cohort / GTM analytics and the underlying data (CRM, billing, product) in a recurring-revenue business.
- Do not wait to be told what to do.
- Avoid "That's not my job" energy at the handoff between teams.
- Treat compliance and documentation as essential, not red tape.
