About the Role

Reporting to a DLO Electrical Work Controller and Team Leaders, this role is responsible for ensuring DLO Electrical Assets are maintained and delivered into service safely and timely. The role also supports other business units as directed by the Line Manager. The job holder must be committed to LUL’s General Safety Policy and safety program, monitoring safety performance and compliance. Familiarity with relevant safety legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act and Fire Precautions Act 1971, is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and deliver DLO Electrical Assets into service safely and timely.
  • Support other business units as instructed by the Line Manager.
  • Monitor safety performance and compliance with established systems.
  • Comply with necessary statutory safety requirements.
  • Identify task requirements and manage a worksite.
  • Test asset integrity and declare it fit for use.
  • Gather information and report deficiencies.
  • Assemble and check tools, equipment, and materials for fitness for purpose.
  • Deal promptly and effectively with problems within their control.
  • Report deviations that cannot be solved.
  • Follow correct processes and operations for allocated tasks.
  • Establish and maintain communication with relevant persons.
  • Establish scope and accuracy of testing.
  • Carry out required testing using correctly accessed equipment and methods.
  • Take action to rectify defective assets.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate licenses/certificates for the role and team.
  • Must be able to carry out electrical installation work efficiently and in accordance with National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, IET Wiring Regulations BS7671, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and Construction Industry Scheme Regulations.
  • Must have two years’ experience working as an Electrician subsequent to satisfactory completion of training and immediately prior to application.
  • Must have demonstrated competence in Inspection and Testing.
  • Must be able to demonstrate right to work in the UK.
  • Must obtain clearance from the Occupational Health team.

Education Level

  • Successfully completed a registered apprenticeship including all knowledge and performance assessments, of the Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation Buildings & Structures), the Level 3 NVQ diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (buildings, structures and the environment) or the Level 3 Electro technical Qualification (Installation) Apprenticeship Standard (C&G 236 Parts 1& 2 or approved equivalent), plus the industry assessment of occupational competence (the AM2) OR have completed the JIB Mature Candidate Assessment including the AM2.
  • Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations.
  • Level 3 Award in the Periodic, Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391 or equivalent).
  • BS 7671 18th Edition Regulations (or equivalent).
