About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, and supports secure enterprise applications, cloud-native services, and automated software delivery solutions. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, containerization, Kubernetes deployments, secure coding practices, observability, and collaboration with DevSecOps and SRE teams to deliver reliable, mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for assigned applications, including test integration and artifact/build traceability across environments.
- Implement automated container image builds, tagging, signing, and vulnerability scanning as part of the standard build process.
- Instrument applications with required logging, metrics, and tracing standards; collaborate with SRE personnel to align SLIs, SLOs, and monitoring requirements.
- Implement deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling) and validate system readiness prior to production releases.
- Apply secure coding standards and dependency management practices; support shift-left security practices throughout the SDLC.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps and SRE teams on release engineering, post-deployment validation, and rollback/backout procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation, security integration, and deployment efficiency across HAPS applications.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise software applications; candidates without a degree must have at least 14 years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting containerized applications, Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure coding practices, service integrations, and production support for mission-critical systems.
- Experience building automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and security tests into build and release workflows.
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes-based application deployment.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for application environments and supporting cloud resources.
- Experience instrumenting applications with logging, metrics, and tracing to support observability and reliability monitoring.
- Must be able to occasionally travel.
- Must have a US Citizenship.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
- The ability to travel, as needed, to customer sites.
