About the Role
As a resident assistant, you will be a companion and caregiver in an enhanced assisted living or memory care community. You will provide compassionate care, support resident independence, and help create a warm, homelike environment where residents are embraced like family.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
- Assist residents in taking medications as needed.
- Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.
- Monitor resident safety and well-being, reporting any change to the LPN.
- Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes of health statuses of residents.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their personal histories, preferences and routines.
- Help with light housekeeping and meal service.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate/collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
- Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.
Requirements
- Must possess patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to follow care plan and safety protocols.
- Working knowledge of computers including electronic health record, checking email, and performing required in-servicing, along with use of other required applications.
- Have the physical, visual and auditory ability adequate to perform resident care.
- Maintain composure and positivity in a high stress environment.
- Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
- Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness.

Education Level
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $17.50 - $19.20 per hour
