About the Role
As a Surgery Coordinator, your exceptional organization and management skills are key to the successful coordination of scheduling and maintenance of services throughout the system.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls, greet customers, and take messages as necessary.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Review patient letters for accuracy and assure outgoing mail is ready for the mailroom.
- Communicate any problems related to scheduling practices.
- Answer phone and assure calls are forwarded to answering machine or alternate phone numbers.
- Coordinate surgical scheduling for multiple physicians, including pre-admission history and physicals, and diagnostic procedures.
- Train others on scheduling procedures.
- Schedule timely and efficient transportation for patients to skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation facilities, or home.
- Coordinate and maintain the scheduling requirements of the Interpreter Services Department Interpreters, vendors, and all Rochester Regional Health patients.
Requirements
- Three (3) or more years of relevant healthcare experience required.
- Knowledge of IDX and CCS is beneficial for transportation departments.
- Related scheduling experience is highly preferred.
