About the Role
This role is responsible for accurately tracking major asset and liability accounts, ensuring timely transaction recording and monthly account reconciliation, particularly for restricted gifts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Lawson Asset Management module owner, processing transactions for fixed asset additions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation, and reconciling to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts, treasury investments, and endowment investments.
- Manage fund account balances, including pledge receivables, CRUT’s, gift annuities, restricted gift accounting, and endowment spend, ensuring spending aligns with restrictions.
- Support the Development group with event and gift planning and accounting.
- Forecast balance sheets as part of budgeting and forecasting exercises.
- Perform other account analyses, document internal controls, and complete other required tasks.
Requirements
- Ability to travel to Lab locations on occasion.
Skills
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting, especially gift accounting
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (Lawson and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge)
- Experience with other modeling tools
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with shifting responsibilities and priorities
- Ability to re-prioritize efforts without losing sight of required outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and interpreting financial data
- Demonstrated experience in preparing financial reports, statements, and/or projections in an accurate and timely manner
