About the Role
NBCUniversal is seeking freelance Technical Production Managers to lead live studio and control room operations for NBC News and Digital platforms. This role supports NBC News Now, NBC News, and occasionally Sports, Entertainment, and Digital, managing crews and production teams for show execution and daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate crews to ensure top-tier broadcasts.
- Oversee studio, control room, and live remote operations.
- Coordinate technical and logistical needs for live programming.
- Handle breaking news, high-pressure situations, and rapid changes.
- Liaise with NBCU operations & executive leadership.
- Ensure efficient utilization of company resources in a fast-paced news environment.
- Manage customer relationships within NBC brands, balancing creative demands with operational management.
- Execute business strategies and cost initiatives while maintaining daily operations.
- Manage demands during breaking and unplanned news, sports, and entertainment events.
- Implement unified operational strategy across NBCU show units.
- Work in compliance with Integrity, Health and Safety Policies, and NBC News Standards and Practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in live, studio television production.
- 2+ years of experience working in a News environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of studio/control room and field production.
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays on an as-needed basis.
- Experienced in working with DGA, NABET, IATSE, as well as non-represented.
- Ability to work within a budget.
