About the Role

BYD is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Technician to support and repair BYD vehicles roadside or at customer premises. This role is crucial for the company's growth and the European transition to Zero Emissions transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service with the aim to please at all times.
• Support BYD vehicles at customer premises.
• Diagnose and repair electrical defects and high voltage components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues when required.
• Maintain a good understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess an electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering qualification or related field.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organization skills, requiring minimum supervision.
• At least 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Good understanding of UK vehicle legislation for M3 category vehicles.
• Understanding of FMEA and hazard analysis procedures.
• Computer proficiency, including MS Office.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Possess a UK driver's license.
• Have background knowledge of commercial/public service vehicles.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel.
