About the Role
Oversee daily operations of an assigned nursing unit, ensuring high-quality resident care, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. This is a temporary role with potential for transition to permanent positions.
Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the activities of nursing staff on an assigned unit.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the overall management of resident care within the unit.
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure care plans are developed, maintained, and updated as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families to support quality care outcomes.
- Communicate staff concerns and operational issues to appropriate department leaders.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and nursing standards of practice.
- Support staff development, coaching, performance management, and team engagement.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, family communication, and resident care coordination.
- Promote a safe, positive, and resident-centered environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid New York State LPN License required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in nursing service administration required.
- Additional experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of state, federal, and local long-term care regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills and a compassionate approach to resident care.
- Must be flexible, dependable, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities.
