About the Role
The Sustainability Coordinator Team Lead and Operations will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to an allocated group of Sustainability Coordinators, while also taking ownership of several team-wide operational and development activities. This role is responsible for supporting consistent service quality, improving team knowledge and ways of working, coordinating employee induction, developing the Flexible Offering proposition, maintaining effective reporting tools, and supporting wider team engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide line management support to an assigned group of Sustainability Coordinators.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and support team members with their performance, professional development, and wellbeing.
- Set clear expectations and monitor progress against individual objectives.
- Support effective workload and capacity management across the direct-reporting group.
- Coach team members and provide guidance on client delivery, stakeholder management, and internal processes.
- Identify individual and team development needs and coordinate suitable training, shadowing, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
- Support probation reviews, regular performance reviews, and individual development planning.
- Lead the induction process for new starters and implement improvements to the existing onboarding programme.
- Manage and coordinate the content of team meetings, including ice-breakers, best-practice sessions, collaborative round-table discussions, and presentations from other teams.
- Ensure team members are kept informed of upcoming meetings, events, and planned content.
- Organise and maintain the team’s shared space, ensuring that materials remain current, accessible, and well-structured.
- Maintain the Sustainability Coordinator contract-reporting tool, including liaising with the Finance team regarding incoming payments, contract dates, renewals, and potential commercial opportunities.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of flexible service offerings in response to client demand, working with relevant internal stakeholders to identify needs, shape appropriate solutions, and support their implementation.
Requirements
- Proven people-management or team-lead experience, including responsibility for coaching, performance support, and employee development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an inclusive and culturally aware approach and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Confidence in providing constructive feedback, managing sensitive conversations, and supporting appropriate escalation.
- Strong stakeholder-management and collaboration skills across different teams and functions.
- Experience coordinating induction, onboarding, training, or knowledge-sharing activities.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, exercise sound judgement, and drive continuous improvement.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience maintaining reporting tools, trackers, and accurate operational or commercial information.
- Ability to use data to monitor performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
