About the Role

Hamilton-Madison House (HMH) is seeking a dedicated individual to join a research project implementing the Family Check-Up for Suicide Prevention (FCU-SP) for Asian American adolescents at risk for suicide and their families. This role involves delivering the FCU-SP intervention within a community-based behavioral health center.

Responsibilities

• Learn to deliver the FCU-SP intervention with fidelity.
• Administer suicide risk assessments and the Self-Injurious Thoughts and Behaviors Interview (SITBI) with youth.
• Develop safety plans with youth.
• Conduct strengths-based family assessments.
• Apply assessment results to form a case conceptualization.
• Provide feedback to families on strengths and areas for improvement in parenting, family relationships, and child behaviors, including service recommendations.
• Incorporate motivational strategies into work with families.
• Support parents/caregivers in developing or enhancing parenting skills using the Everyday Parenting curriculum.
• Receive weekly supervision related to the FCU-SP project and as required by Hamilton-Madison House.
• Maintain medical records documentation according to HMH and the Office of Mental Health policies and procedures.
• Comply with all agency, City, State, and Federal regulatory and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
• Experience working with a high-risk youth population.
• Experience administering risk assessments.
• Experience developing safety plans.
• Training and experience in the use of Motivational Interviewing strongly preferred.

Education Level

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical, counseling, or school psychology preferred.
• Master's degree in mental health counseling, social work, or related field considered with sufficient training, experience, and supervisory support.

Salary/Compensations

• $26,208 Annually
