About the Role
Support the firm’s billing operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant invoice processing for a large portfolio of insurance defense matters.
Responsibilities
- Process monthly and quarterly client billing invoices.
- Review client billing instructions to ensure full compliance with guidelines.
- Research and resolve billing issues; collaborate with partners, assistants, and billing staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Submit and monitor e-billed invoices; resolve discrepancies and rejected invoices promptly.
- Track delayed payments and follow up as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant billing experience, required
- Experience with legal billing systems and time & billing software is a plus.
- Knowledge of standard billing processes, including invoice formatting, timekeeper allocations, and paperless billing workflows.
- Experience with electronic billing platforms, including client/matter setup and time entry troubleshooting.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Prior experience in a law firm environment, highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of firm personnel and client contacts.
- Willingness to work extended hours during billing deadlines.
