About the Role
Altagram is seeking freelance translators and proofreaders for English US to Icelandic to localize games across various genres. The role involves working on in-game text, marketing content, subtitling, linguistic quality evaluation, and culturalization analysis, with most assignments being translation and proofreading, and MTPE on selected projects.
Responsibilities
- Translate and proofread in-game text, including dialogue, quests, item descriptions, tutorials, UI, and menus.
- Localize marketing and store content such as Steam pages, trailers, social posts, and ad copy.
- Perform subtitling for cutscenes, trailers, and promotional videos.
- Conduct linguistic quality evaluation (LQA).
- Perform culturalization analysis.
- Undertake Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) on selected projects.
Requirements
- Native-level Icelandic and excellent command of English US.
- Demonstrated experience localizing video games, not general content.
- Confident working in memoQ.
- Familiar with Plunet TMS.
- Willingness to complete two short unpaid test pieces (one for translation, one for proofreading) as part of the screening process.
