About the Role
Altagram is seeking freelance translators and proofreaders for Japanese to German localization projects within the gaming industry. This role involves translating in-game text, marketing content, and subtitles, as well as performing linguistic quality evaluation and culturalization analysis.
Responsibilities
- Translate in-game text including dialogue, quests, item descriptions, tutorials, UI, and menus.
- Localize marketing and store content such as Steam pages, trailers, social posts, and ad copy.
- Subtitle cutscenes, trailers, and promotional videos.
- Perform linguistic quality evaluation (LQA).
- Conduct culturalization analysis.
- Engage in translation, post-editing machine translation (MTPE) on selected projects.
Requirements
- Native-level German and excellent command of Japanese.
- Demonstrated experience localizing video games.
- Proficient in memoQ.
- Familiar with Plunet TMS.
- Willingness to complete two short unpaid test pieces for translation and proofreading.
