About the Role
Professional Care Medical Practice P.C. is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) to serve as a Behavioral Health Professional within the medical department at the Dutchess County Jail in Poughkeepsie, NY. This full-time role involves providing mental health services in a correctional setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments, including documentation, case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
- Perform risk assessments using structured interviews and tools, managing inmates at risk for suicide or self-harm according to protocols.
- Serve as the mental health liaison for services both within and outside the facility.
- Facilitate admissions to forensic hospitals when necessary.
- Monitor all mental health services to ensure compliance with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric/psychological standards.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee.
- Develop and conduct in-service education programs.
- Collect data and prepare monthly performance reports.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW in New York State.
- Must hold a Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Service field with a clinical concentration.
- Minimum of two years of experience and familiarity with substance abuse/MAT counseling is preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
