About the Role
This role within the Healthcare Division offers the opportunity to develop expertise in handling healthcare and clinical negligence claims for insurers, healthcare providers, and private medical organizations. You will manage a caseload of aesthetic treatment claims and other healthcare litigation matters up to £50,000, with supervision, mentoring, and technical support provided.
Responsibilities
- Acknowledge instructions and liaise with clients, Court, and parties.
- Draft appropriate Court documentation.
- File documentation at Court and serve upon third parties.
- Liaise with the Insured and witnesses to draft witness statements.
- Obtain additional information and/or documentation from insurer clients and third parties to progress negotiations.
- Follow up on outstanding instructions and actions to ensure timely responses.
- Create bundles, instruct Counsel, and review records or documentation.
- Provide general assistance and ad hoc duties to support lead File Handlers.
- Input case management and matter information accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2015.
Requirements
- Experience in a legal or claims handling environment is essential, preferably in healthcare, clinical negligence, personal injury, or insurance claims.
- Alternatively, holds an appropriate legal qualification.
- Experience negotiating with and influencing third parties to obtain information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to work effectively to set deadlines.
- Experience dealing with calls and inquiries from insurers, brokers, and other relevant parties.
- Experience gathering and recording information.
- IT Literate.
- Excellent attention to detail.

- Experience using a Claims/Case Management system.
