You will collaborate across multifunctional teams to diagnose problems to component level, determine solutions via simulation and experimentation, and implement corrective actions. You will lead and mentor junior engineers and work closely with RF design teams to design out obsolete or long lead components.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and guide junior staff, assisting them as they investigate problems and perform simulations.
  • Lead investigations and coordinate tasks.
  • Detail design tradeoffs and ensure product performance aligns with specifications and industry standards.
  • Mitigate component shortages by qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits and sub-assemblies.
  • Work with design engineering and manufacturing teams to introduce new designs into manufacturing.
  • Make necessary circuit changes with design engineering prior to and during new product launches.
  • Troubleshoot units, modules, and assemblies to the component level, implementing changes to reduce failures.
  • Improve product performance and implement cost improvements, outlining design tradeoffs and risks.

Requirements

  • Hardware troubleshooting ability including analog and RF components and circuits.
  • Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results.
  • Design and analysis of circuits and components utilizing ADS, Matlab, and various design and simulation tools.
  • Ability to use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network Analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Able to analyze designs and communicate technical information to support staff.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 11 years of prior related experience.
  • A high-level RF knowledge, and design and troubleshoot experience is required.
