About the Role

Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Security Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience for visitors, staff, and guests. You will respond to concerns, communicate professionally, and contribute to a caring, reliable team culture grounded in integrity, teamwork, and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, members, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout museum galleries, public spaces, staff areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter while reporting unusual activity or conditions.
  • Monitor access points and support visitor flow, helping maintain a welcoming environment while protecting collections, exhibits, and property.
  • Complete accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
