About the Role

Responsible for the design, fabrication, and maintenance of fixtures for processing production parts to engineering specifications, with a focus on cost reduction and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and fabricate basic fixtures for small weld assemblies to production prints, considering tolerances, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Verify processing requirements before fixture design.
• Review changes and new part specifications with the Engineering Department for print accuracy and fixture modification/design requirements.
• Train weld technicians on proper fixture usage.
• Inspect and repair fixtures to ensure consistent quality of production parts.
• Document fixture repairs and modifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Proficient in knowledge and use of established weld design procedures, tools, and equipment.
• Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.
• Moderate physical demand; often lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs), and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials (up to 70 lbs).
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
