About the Role

Investment Engineering is a hub group within Dimensional that manages investment data and analysis tools from acquisition to distribution. The Portfolio Engineering team specifically works with Portfolio Management and Technology teams on systems that implement Dimensional’s portfolios. This Senior Associate role is a full-stack software engineering position focused on system design, implementation, and maintenance within a team environment, aiming to improve development processes, delivery pipelines, and support needs.

Responsibilities

Understand user requests and translate them into concrete designs that meet the needs of the broader user base, considering complexity, cost, timeframe, and maintenance.
Implement designs by creating databases, schemas, APIs, processing services, schedules, asynchronous pipelines, component code, and style sheets.
Write software collaboratively, participate in code reviews and design sessions, and mentor junior team members.
Participate in the support triage process, ensuring systems are designed with supportability in mind and willingness to address system shortcomings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Component-based front-end experience (e.g., Angular, React, Vue, Svelte).
Database experience, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server or similar.
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) experience with languages like C# or Java.
Experience with Material Design and Angular Material.
Experience working with large datasets, including computational code.
A desire to continue learning about software development and investment management.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intellectual curiosity combined with attention to detail.
