About the Role

The Project Manager is a motivated, organized, and knowledgeable individual responsible for managing fire sprinkler & standpipe installations. This role involves coordinating with clients and field staff, managing project timelines, and ensuring successful project completion from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, schedule & ensure the completion of the installation and modification of Sprinkler/ standpipe systems.
  • Coordinate work with design, fabrication and installation personnel.
  • Perform project site visits and attend project kickoff meetings.
  • Coordinate with General Contractor and/or Customer to meet deadlines and project schedule.
  • Produce quality material list for project installation.
  • Review change documents and participate in pricing changes.
  • Communicate with office as to extras, change notices, and scheduling needs.
  • Working with accounting for project invoicing.
  • Assist with customer inquiries and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Track and participate in drawing submissions and applicable permit applications as required.
  • Coordinate testing with the installation crew and applicable parties and ensure all close out documents are obtained.
  • Provide details of the completed jobs to the service sales team to price the annual inspections.
  • Participate in company safety training and programs.
  • Assist estimating department with site visits to provide information for them to prepare quotes.
  • Preparation of quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
  • Communication with General Contractors, Engineers, Architects and Owners.
  • Complete site visits to determine existing conditions.
  • Meet with clients and build customer relationships.
  • Willing to travel through out the GTA and surrounding areas.
  • Any other additional items requested by your manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in the fire protection industry, including sprinkler and standpipe system projects.
  • Proven experience managing and coordinating fire protection projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 14 standards and their application to sprinkler and standpipe system installations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review construction drawings, fire protection drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience coordinating with General Contractors, Engineers, Architects, Owners, and installation teams.
  • Experience reviewing change documents, preparing and pricing change orders, and managing project documentation.
  • Experience preparing material take-offs and material lists for project installations.
  • Familiarity with permit applications, drawing submissions, inspections, testing, and project closeout documentation.
  • Experience conducting job site visits, assessing existing site conditions, and participating in project kickoff meetings.
  • Experience supporting project invoicing and working with accounting on project billing requirements.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience assisting with quotations and reviewing project drawings and specifications for pricing purposes.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract.
