About the Role
Lead, coach, and shape the future of driver training at NRMA. This role involves leading a team of trainers and instructors delivering Driver Training, Safer Drivers Course, and supporting Corporate Driver Training programs across NSW. It's an opportunity for a hands-on leader focused on developing people, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes while maintaining safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of driving instructors, facilitators, and trainers.
- Support workforce capability, engagement, and performance through coaching, ride-alongs, and development activities.
- Coordinate day-to-day delivery of Driver Training, Safer Drivers Course, and Corporate Driver Training programs.
- Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and service quality across all training activities.
- Utilize performance data and operational insights to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and utilization.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align workforce resources with customer demand and business priorities.
- Remain connected to the customer experience through the delivery of training programs when required.
Requirements
- Experience leading operational, training, education, logistics, or service delivery teams.
- Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport – Car Driving Instruction).
- Demonstrated people leadership experience with a strong focus on coaching and capability development.
- 5+ years of experience managing workforce performance, utilization, scheduling, and operational delivery.
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and risk management in a regulated environment.
- Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into action.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Current Class C Driver Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Current NSW Driving Instructor Licence.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Weekend work is an essential requirement, with availability for both weekend days either every weekend or every second weekend.
