About the Role
We are seeking a freelance teacher (w/m/d) for mathematics starting August 24, 2026, to teach heterogeneous learning groups in two social assistant training classes. The goal is to impart mathematical content in an understandable, structured, and accessible manner. The role typically involves 3 to 6 teaching units per week, reducing to approximately 3 during class internships. No classes are held during Berlin school holidays. Instruction takes place in the afternoons from 12:50 PM to 3:20 PM.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and follow-up of mathematics lessons according to the Berlin framework curriculum for vocational schools for social assistants.
- Conducting lessons in one to two training classes with the aim of conveying content understandably and structured.
- Creation and correction of performance records and transparent grading.
- Participation in grade conferences and team meetings.
- Careful documentation of attendance and lesson content in the digital class register.
Requirements
- Diploma/Master's degree or currently pursuing a Diploma/Master's degree in Teaching for Secondary Level II Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, or similar STEM fields such as Mechanical Engineering.
- High subject matter and social competence.
- Ability for independent work and a high degree of initiative and responsibility.
