About the Role
Under general supervision, ensure the safety and security of employees, clients, and visitors. Support ongoing communication among staff and maintain a trauma-informed care environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety and security standards and complete incident reports.
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure protection of clients, visitors, property, and equipment.
- Control and monitor site access and alarm systems.
- Manage program parking, addressing unauthorized use and coordinating with towing agencies.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates for security, and monitor closed buildings for unauthorized activity.
- Inform violators of rule infractions.
- Report irregularities, security breaches, facility hazards, and emergency situations, contacting emergency responders as needed.
- Remain alert for unauthorized persons and code violators, approaching suspicious individuals or notifying police.
- Provide backup to the receptionist, directing calls and welcoming visitors.
- Participate in staff and department meetings.
- Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge through reading, workshops, and conferences.
- Support the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan, including core competency initiatives.
- Participate in relevant Agency meetings and trainings.
- Pursue development of professional competencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- NY State Security Guard Registration required.
- Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience working as a security guard.
- Employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to type, and perform light lifting.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- All duties must be performed in accordance with CCFCS’s corporate compliance & ethics program.
