About the Role

Under general supervision, ensure the safety and security of employees, clients, and visitors. Support ongoing communication among staff and maintain a trauma-informed care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety and security standards and complete incident reports.
  • Patrol assigned areas to ensure protection of clients, visitors, property, and equipment.
  • Control and monitor site access and alarm systems.
  • Manage program parking, addressing unauthorized use and coordinating with towing agencies.
  • Examine doors, windows, and gates for security; open and close buildings; monitor for unauthorized persons or suspicious activities.
  • Inform violators of rule infractions.
  • Watch for and report irregularities, hazards, and emergencies; contact emergency responders as needed.
  • Remain alert for unauthorized persons and code violators; approach suspicious individuals or notify police; detain violators if necessary.
  • Provide backup to the receptionist, directing calls and welcoming visitors.
  • Participate in staff and department meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge through reading, workshops, and conferences.
  • Support the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan, including core competency initiatives.
  • Participate in relevant Agency meetings and trainings.
  • Pursue professional development through reading, supervision, in-service training, and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • NY State Security Guard Registration required.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a security guard.
  • Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with CCFCS’s corporate compliance & ethics program.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to type, and perform light lifting.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment noise level is usually quiet.
