About the Role

FSM Group, an aviation fuel management company, is seeking Fuel Facility Operators for its new LaGuardia Airport location. The company prioritizes safety, competitive wages, affordable health insurance, growth opportunities, and a respectful work environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet attendance, safety, and performance standards.
• Accept petroleum products from transport trucks and pipelines into storage facilities per ATA 103 procedures.
• Train new employees as directed.
• Ensure fuel quality control and integrity of the fuel hydrant system per ATA 103 criteria.
• Maintain fuel inventories.
• Assist with equipment calibration.
• Work on loading racks and fuel storage equipment.
• Update records and inspection forms.
• Complete paperwork as instructed.
• Inspect equipment and hydrant system, reporting discrepancies.
• Perform fuel quality control per ASTM and ATA standards.
• Assist with fuel spill cleanup and maintain the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and federal fingerprint background check.
• Ability to problem-solve.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Demonstrated regular, predictable attendance.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate in English with customers, coworkers, or supervisors.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Basic understanding of computer applications and data entries.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more.
• Must be able to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights.
• Must be able to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead.
• Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level.
• Must be able to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, climb, and balance for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive physical movements, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining awkward or physically demanding positions.
• Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work.
• Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls.
• Hear and respond to verbal instructions, environmental sounds, and audible alarms.
• Maintain close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
• Tolerate frequent exposure to moderate to high noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous substances.
• Work near or around moving mechanical parts, high-voltage equipment, and high-pressure systems.
• Work in elevated or precarious positions.
