About the Role

Join our Strategy, Risk & Transactions – Advisory – Forensic team to help uncover financial and economic crime and develop your skills in interdisciplinary projects. Our team analyzes and prevents economic crime across industries, investigates fraud and cybercrime, and supports clients with complex issues and the implementation of sustainable protective measures.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage experience in legally compliant identification and acquisition of evidence data, as well as its preparation and analysis.
  • Provide result data, documents, and facts in a client-appropriate manner for litigations, investigations, regulatory inquiries, or cyber incident responses.
  • Develop project procedures, discuss them with clients, and enable them to assess options regarding data protection, co-regulating rules, efficiency, quality, and costs.
  • Lead small teams and take responsibility for results.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art technologies, labs, data centers, and cloud solutions.
  • Participate in the transformation towards a GenAI-supported and platform-based work environment, collaborating with the Discovery and Forensic team and specialists from various disciplines.
  • Plan and execute network-based data acquisitions (e.g., Microsoft 365, Fileshares) and large-scale IT forensic endpoint acquisitions, focusing on various models and operating systems.
  • Perform artifact analysis and structured exception handling.
  • Prepare mass data for review (e.g., Culling, De-Duplication, Email Threading, OCR, metadata checks), especially for globally distributed data repositories.
  • Support law firms and review teams with workflows, search strategies, and review setups.
  • Employ analytics methods (e.g., Clustering, Near-Duplicate Detection, Keyword Tests, Document Chats, TAR Support, Automation) for early fact-finding, data reduction, and improving review quality and speed.
  • Integrate structured and semi-structured data, particularly accounting data, into the approach.
  • Support the use of the latest GenAI functions in eDiscovery (e.g., Q&A over document inventories, document chat, document summaries, review triage and QC) and Digital Forensics (e.g., deepfakes, reconstruction of data gaps).
  • Provide legally compliant documentation and clear communication of Digital Forensic and eDiscovery workflows, assumptions, and results (e.g., data recovery, search/filter logic, methods for implementing data protection requirements, review and production KPIs) to stakeholders in Legal, Compliance, Data Protection, IT, as well as external law firms and authorities.

Requirements

  • Above-average degree (Bachelor's, Master's advantageous) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a comparable field, along with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Sound knowledge in project management, client-appropriate communication, SQL, Python or a comparable programming language, MS Office, and MS Windows including Server.
  • Proficiency in IT forensic principles and legally compliant documentation, as well as Digital Forensic & eDiscovery tools/platforms.
  • Practical application of GenAI / LLMs in Legal-Tech and eDiscovery workflows (e.g., Prompt Engineering, Evaluation/QA, RAG approaches, Fine-Tuning).
  • Awareness of Responsible AI, data protection, and security requirements.
  • Understanding of Forensic Accounting as an integral part of investigations and litigations.
  • Familiarity with SAP modules and an understanding of accounting cycles, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Ability to identify anomalies and fraud patterns in transaction data and correlate them with communication data.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English.
  • Enjoy working in team structures – virtual, in-office, and on-site at client locations.
