About the Role

Join our team to help shape the foundation for a modern and future-proof Berlin administration and drive digitalization. Our department manages and maintains VIM services (Directory, Identity & Mail) to keep systems up-to-date and ensure their functionality and security. You will strengthen our 18-member team and work together on Berlin's digital future.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the operation, technical planning, and continuous development of Active Directory and Exchange services, as well as associated Microsoft infrastructure services, ensuring secure, efficient, and future-proof operation.
  • Analyze, design, and optimize IT systems, develop technical solutions, standards, and automation concepts, and ensure the IT infrastructure meets current and future requirements.
  • Support and manage customer and internal projects in the areas of Active Directory, Exchange, and related IT services, from requirements analysis and technical conception to implementation and handover to operations.
  • Act as a liaison between IT architecture and IT operations, collaborating closely with architecture, other production areas, product development, customers, and external service providers to ensure service quality, efficiency, and continuous service development.
  • Create, maintain, and develop technical documentation, operating concepts, and standardized operating procedures, actively supporting security and compliance requirements, such as for BSI certification.
  • Actively transfer and share expertise to support team development using various communication channels.
  • Ensure the operational readiness of IT services, including outside of regular working hours if necessary.
  • Manage the responsible IT service during on-call duty, including outside of regular working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or FH degree, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the conception, planning, development, and technical optimization of complex IT systems and services, particularly in Active Directory, Exchange Enterprise, and related Microsoft infrastructure services.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing technical architectures, standards, and automation concepts, including integration into existing IT infrastructures and using PowerShell scripts for automation and optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in operating, administering, and continuously optimizing complex IT systems and services, including patch, change, and lifecycle management, and ensuring stable and secure operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in IT Service Management according to ITIL® and in creating technical documentation, operating concepts, and standardized operating procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in managing and controlling complex IT projects, including project planning, stakeholder management, project controlling, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge and experience in cross-departmental collaboration and technical consulting for various stakeholders.
  • German language skills at B2 level (GER) are required.
  • Technical English language skills at B1 level (ENG) are required.
  • Willingness to undergo or possess an extended security check (SÜ 2) according to § 11 of the Berlin Security Check Act (BSÜG).
