About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to support the Senior HR Business Partner in delivering a high-quality people service across the organisation. This role combines operational excellence with strategic HR partnership, ensuring managers are equipped to lead their teams effectively while driving positive colleague experiences and organisational performance. This is an opportunity to work closely with HR colleagues to continuously improve HR processes and employee experience, helping to shape the people agenda while gaining exposure to strategic HR initiatives, organisational change, and leadership development.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior HR Business Partner in delivering the people strategy across designated business areas.
- Partner with leaders and managers to provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice.
- Deliver manager training and coaching to strengthen leadership and people management skills.
- Support organisational change, restructures, and workforce planning activities.
- Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and performance concerns.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant people practices.
- Identify trends in employee relations activity and recommend proactive interventions.
- Support talent management, succession planning, and growth initiatives.
- Drive performance management processes and support managers in addressing performance challenges.
- Contribute to employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Monitor key people metrics and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Support audit, governance, and risk management requirements.
- Work closely with HR colleagues to continuously improve HR processes and employee experience.
- Lead and support HR projects that align with organisational priorities.
- Contribute to culture, engagement, wellbeing, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
- Support the implementation of organisational change programmes and transformation activity.
Requirements
- CIPD Level 5 or above (Level 7 desirable).
- Significant HR generalist experience, ideally within a business partnering environment.
- Strong employee relations expertise with experience managing complex and sensitive cases.
- Experience advising and influencing managers at various levels.
- Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting organisational change and restructures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Workday - preferred.
