About the Role
Nuclear Power Programmes is a new Business Unit focused on shaping the future of Nuclear Power. We are expanding our team to support various nuclear projects across the UK and continental Europe, delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills and nuclear understanding while working on Sizewell C, contributing to the growth of a new business unit.
Responsibilities
- Take a global overview of the nuclear power plant Systems, SSCs within their programme.
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering studies by the RD or key contractors to meet SZC project needs.
- Prepare specific post-FID contracts (terms & conditions, contractual appendices and technical specification) with the multidisciplinary team.
- Drive the implementation of site-specific design changes into design deliverables.
- Manage internal and external interfaces to ensure a coordinated approach to design and delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders, including equipment suppliers, to identify obsolescence issues and other risks.
- Manage the technical elements of the procurement process for specific contracts.
- Ensure lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Project Management.
- Working knowledge and management experience of construction activities.
- Experience managing major projects from concept to handover throughout the project lifecycle in a technically complex and dynamic environment.
- Success coordinating multi-disciplinary design/procurement work and driving teams to deliver on time.
- Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
- Procurement and management of complex contracts.
- Control of costs, risk, schedule and change.
- Proficient in the use of Earned Value tools.
- Project management or project engineering experience from concept to handover.
- Close out of commercial claims and associated negotiations.
