About the Role

The Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking two Space Analysts - I to assist in facility operations, furniture relocation, space relinquishment, and site preparation for construction and re-engineering initiatives. This role ensures high scores on CORE inspections and provides excellent customer service to agency clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in facility operations, furniture relocation, relinquishment of space, pre and post construction site preparation activities, re-engineering initiatives and ensuring high scores on Customer Observing and Researching Experience (CORE) inspections.
  • Provide a consistent high level of service for customers interacting with City agencies.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of sites for location/relocation by program and administrative areas.
  • Review space needs by conducting site visits for surveying and preparing drawings to determine optimum staff, furniture, and equipment locations.
  • Assist in actual location/relocation by coordinating necessary activities and providing essential building support services.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one year of satisfactory, full-time experience in the evaluation and layout of space in office buildings, garages, and other structures used for commercial and industrial purposes.
  • Experience must include projects requiring knowledge of construction needs and cost, installation of computer equipment and telephone communication systems, and building standards and leasing procedures.
  • Alternatively, a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described above.
  • College education may substitute for up to four years of experience (30 semester credits for one year), but one year of the specified experience is always required.
  • For Assignment Level II, two additional years of experience are required: a baccalaureate degree and three years of experience, or a high school diploma and seven years of experience.
