About the Role
The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is seeking a Junior Engineer to join their Construction Management 2 – South Queens – Section 2 team. The role involves hands-on training and contribution to engineering tasks, including construction inspection, management, and investigations.
Responsibilities
- Construction inspection
- Construction management
- Engineering investigations
- Assessments related to various engineering functions
- Carry out civil engineering tasks of moderate complexity under supervision
- Interpretation of specifications
- Conducting field inspections
- Participating in contract negotiations and dispute resolutions
Requirements
- Permanent in the Civil Engineering Intern title or filed for open-competitive exam #6116
- Include a copy of your Notice of Results or indicate if you are currently permanent in the title
- ACI Concrete Field -Testing and OSHA 10-hour Certified or take the first available DDC-offered training session
- Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.)
- Present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Have proper work authorization when an employment offer is made
- Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution
- Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification
