About the Role

The New York County District Attorney's Office has multiple openings for Discovery Specialists in its Case Management Services department. This role provides highly skilled support to the department and the office, assisting with the prosecution of crimes in Manhattan and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a centralized resource for tracking electronic evidence and collaborate with NYPD, OCME, FDNY, and Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) on data tracking and discovery material production.
  • Coordinate with ADAs regarding discovery material/document production and identify needed materials from NYPD, OCME, and FDNY.
  • Support all stages of the eDiscovery process, including preservation, collection, processing, and preparing ESI for distribution.
  • Assist with the entire e-Discovery process, from ingestion and production to archiving.
  • Liaise between the office, the Grand Jury, Clerks Office, and Court Clerks.
  • Utilize the Court Event Entry (CEE) program to enter Grand Jury events, true bill information, presentations, appearances, and indictment filing events.
  • Request Grand Jury minutes for all indicted cases.
  • Create Supreme Court jackets.
  • Perform end-of-term Grand Jury auditing.
  • Enter and audit Supreme Court cases in the CEE program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice.
  • Excellent organization, communication, time management, writing, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
  • Ability to update and edit existing proprietary databases.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to workflow changes.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Internet search strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, law enforcement representatives, and outside visitors.
  • Perform all assignments accurately, professionally, and expeditiously.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above
