About the Role

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Direct Store Delivery (“DSD”) Warehouse Lead to support the sales management team and ensure efficient operation of the DSD Distribution Center (DC) in Bayshore, NY. The Lead will manage DC warehouse operations while performing warehouse duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operations of the DSD DC.
• Assigns daily tasks to DSD Warehouse Utilities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assists with training new DSD warehouse team members.
• Orders inventory; receives, stores, loads, and accounts for all products and materials, ensuring excellent condition.
• Unloads trailers and verifies trailer load accuracy.
• Checks product picked and loaded by Independent Operators and Distributors, verifying correct inventory.
• Uses a handheld computer to balance daily inventory.
• Accepts and checks return to stock product and stale/damaged products.
• Maintains warehouse organization, including product rotation and cleanliness.
• Covers open routes as directed by management.
• Delivers product to customers and bins as needed.
• Places and merchandises authorized products in accounts.
• Leads and assists with month-end inventory counts.
• Alerts Head of DSD Ops. of any discrepancies immediately.

Requirements

• 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a DSD DC in a food-related industry.
• Prior experience using an Enterprise Resource System such as D365 is highly preferred.
• Experience leading and directing others is preferred.
• Requires organization and attention to detail for accurate inventory, records, and product rotation.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Requires basic math skills.
• Requires independent decision-making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Must be able to fill in and cover open routes.
• Must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van or box truck safely and competently.
• Must be able to drive a forklift and/or use a hand jack.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook/Excel.
