About the Role
As a Foster Parent Home Finder, you will play a vital role in our mission by finding and supporting families who are ready to open their homes and hearts to children in foster care. This role involves community engagement, recruitment, and supporting families through the certification process.
Responsibilities
- Engage in community outreach by attending events and networking with local organizations, schools, businesses, and faith-based groups.
- Develop monthly recruitment plans utilizing grassroots outreach, local advertising, and creative campaigns.
- Partner with the communications team to leverage social media and other outreach tools.
- Guide families through the certification process with clarity and compassion.
- Conduct home visits and safety assessments to ensure compliance with state standards.
- Facilitate pre-service and ongoing training for foster families.
- Complete initial certification assessments and annual reassessments of foster families, including preparing home studies.
- Monitor homes to ensure compliance with agency and state regulations.
- Complete emergency certifications for identified kinship resources.
- Maintain relationships with foster parents post-certification to ensure ongoing engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, operating multiple software systems.
- Track progress and identify opportunities for growth within the program.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in Child welfare, Foster Care, Human Services, Marketing, Social Work, Communications, Public health, or Sales-Oriented Approach and Community Engagement.
- Lived experience as a foster parent, kinship caregiver, or respite parent is encouraged.
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Willingness to complete NTDC and CPR/First Aid trainer certification within 6 months.
- Ability to coordinate and plan travel efficiently.
