About the Role
Convex is seeking a numerically gifted Credit Analyst to join our Political & Credit Risks underwriting team as an Underwriter. This role offers a transition path for a high-performing Credit Analyst to move from evaluating financial data to making real-world underwriting decisions within a team of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Deep dive into balance sheets and financial data to rationalize risk and aid in making underwriting decisions.
- Review information memorandums and provide feedback for sound long-term decisions on written risks.
- Meet and build relationships with major existing clients globally and identify new target clients.
- Analyze the portfolio to identify business opportunities, products, and clients, ensuring a robust business case.
- Ensure risks are written within agreed parameters, focusing on consistency and considered risk appetite.
Requirements
- Degree from a reputable university in Economics, Politics, or International Relations.
- Currently studying towards the CFA.
- Approximately 2-4 years of experience in Credit Analysis at a financial institution or ratings agency.
- Ability to deconstruct a balance sheet with ease.
- Possess a broad, curious world-view.
- Analytical approach with the ability to transition from an opinion-based to a decision-based mindset.
- Articulate communicator who enjoys building relationships internally and externally.
