About the Role
Join a rapidly growing, economically successful scale-up in the energy sector based in Berlin. We are exclusively recruiting for a Team Lead Accounting to lead the accounting team, build financial processes, and contribute to the company's dynamic growth phase, supported by renowned investors.
Responsibilities
- Manage Quote-to-Cash & Revenue Recognition processes.
- Develop the entire Order-to-Cash process, moving from execution to scalable, semi-automated workflows in collaboration with Business Ops, Sales, and Tech.
- Independently manage revenue recognition, including developing, documenting, and defending accounting policies with auditors.
- Contribute to structuring billing-relevant customer and contract data across systems.
- Redesign core accounting processes with a focus on automation, including building necessary audit documentation (process descriptions, closing checklists, controls, audit trails).
- Assume full professional and disciplinary responsibility for the growing Accounting team.
Requirements
- Completed degree in economics, business administration, or a comparable qualification (e.g., certified accountant).
- Several years of professional experience in accounting/bookkeeping, ideally with initial team leadership experience.
- Sound knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); IFRS knowledge is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience in a dynamic start-up or scale-up environment is desirable.
- Hands-on mentality, strong affinity for processes and numbers, and a structured approach to work.
- Proficient in common accounting software (e.g., DATEV) and MS Excel.
- Very good English skills and German at least B1 level.
