About the Role
As a Vice President in our EMEA Life Sciences, Innovation Economy team, you will be responsible for building, growing, and retaining meaningful client relationships within the Life Sciences and Health Tech sectors. You will be the focal point of client acquisition and ongoing relationships with innovative companies, working both independently and as part of a dynamic team to deliver the firm's full capabilities to clients. Your role involves meeting business development goals, identifying opportunities to sell multiple banking products, and anticipating client needs to maximize revenue.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to build a market brand representing Life Sciences as the “Leading Innovation Economy bank serving the best and most diverse clients”
- Develop new business by acquiring new relationships and deepening existing ones through delivering the entire Firm
- Lead internal strategic discussions across all solutions including credit and payments
- Focus on identifying the best and most diverse founders and management teams powering innovation
- Leverage a referral network built through business activities and relationship development
- Champion a culture of innovation and a customer-centric mindset balanced with appropriate risk management
- Collaborate with different teams and geographies across JP Morgan to bring the best solutions to clients
- Stay up to date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships
Requirements
- 5+ years of related banking experience for Health Tech, Healthcare, or Life Sciences
- Strong understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
- Some understanding of Investment Banking
- Excellent sales management and business development skills
- Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business and control partners
- Self-directed, proactive, and creative; uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done
- Strong team player mindset
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Experience with Founders, C-suite, and board members
- Relationships with leading Venture Capital investors in early and late-stage tech
- Knowledge of the UK and European Healthtech/Healthcare market
- Background in Life Sciences or related degrees and/or relevant sector experience in other roles is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training preferred
- Strong committed team player, looking to add to a national team of like-minded, passionate Innovation Economy bankers
