About the Role
Responsible for maintaining the highest standard of safety and order in all areas of the Lining Department. This role requires frequent interactions with other employees, self-motivation, and the ability to take initiative. The position involves maintaining machines and equipment necessary for production.
Responsibilities
- Work Safely at all times including proper LOTO of machines and use of proper PPE
- Promote 5S maintenance and improvements
- Be a positive role model to the team
- Maintain machines and associate equipment in optimum condition
- Make necessary and/or routine machine adjustments and repair equipment to ensure continuous production
- Operate all machines and equipment to understand their function and repair them
- Identify all different styles of caps, jars and their codes (i.e. S, RS, RM, RMX)
- Perform tooling changes (size) within a reasonable timeframe
- Be RESULTS oriented using visual KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
- Be multi-skilled to support team members as needed
- Develop and follow standardized work instructions to minimize machine downtime
- Seek assistance from department manager/team leaders as required
- Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Be a good listener and understand issues before coming up with solutions (root cause analysis)
- Support and help production of products when business needs dictate
- Perform mandatory overtime as directed by department needs
- Supports a culture where employees address unsafe conditions and behaviors, make suggestions for improvements, and actively participates in implementing solutions
- Identifies safety gaps and self-initiates corrective actions
- Strictly adheres to plant safety, housekeeping, and 5S efforts
- Understands, identifies, and corrects safety hazards
- Drives a culture which empowers employees to understand and embrace what they own
- Monitors and verifies activities to ensure finished goods and raw materials meet consumer safety and quality standards
- Complies with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures
- Reports any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured products to the location’s Food Safety Team Leader and submits an appropriate incident report

- Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs
- Lifting 20lbs-30lbs above shoulder height
Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years mechanical and/or electrical experience in PLC Ladder logic
- Responsive: Must be able to take direction from multiple people as needed
- High attention to detail
- Great interpersonal skills
- Positive personality and “can do” attitude
- Demonstrated equivalent of education and experience may be considered
