About the Role

Adobe's communications team seeks a Group Manager, Strategy & Operations to own the strategic and operational backbone for the Creativity & Productivity (C&P) business. This role involves building systems, rhythms, and judgment to enable team scale, effective operation, and strategic movement across various communication functions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Director to set strategic direction and turn it into clear operating plans.
  • Own the team's operating rhythm, including planning, goal-setting, performance tracking, and day-to-day priorities.
  • Act as a trusted proxy in meetings and decisions.
  • Facilitate faster decision-making by prioritizing issues and clearing the way for the team.
  • Hold the team to a high standard of operational excellence, including timely reporting, budget tracking, industry analysis, and media measurement.
  • Build AI-native systems to enhance team efficiency in briefing, review cycles, content tracking, and operations.
  • Lead special projects and critical initiatives, often independently.
  • Manage a small team, setting expectations, mentoring, and ensuring accountability for quality and responsiveness.
  • Establish workback schedules, editorial standards, and preparedness protocols for high-stakes communications.
  • Serve as an editorial steward on strategic engagements, reviewing content and shaping materials.
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely deliverables.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience in communications, strategy, or operations, preferably at a tech company or in high-stakes comms.
  • Chief of Staff or senior communications strategist experience, having acted as a trusted proxy for an executive.
  • Exceptional writer comfortable moving between executive voice and internal narrative with strategic framing.
  • Structured problem solver who translates ambiguity into clear plans with owners, timelines, and success criteria.
  • Ability to build systems that maintain sustainable plans.
  • Strong executive presence and confidence to engage at the VP/C-suite level.
  • High EQ skilled at reading people, influencing without formal authority, and managing and mentoring teams.
