About the Role
Ares is seeking a leader to drive fund management and portfolio oversight for flagship development funds. This role involves strategic recommendations, investor relations, and team development within a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management and oversight of flagship development funds.
- Drive fund-level analyses, including performance evaluation, cash flow forecasting, and investment return measurement.
- Oversee disposition processes and execution activities.
- Act as a key operational leader during new fund launches.
- Monitor portfolio-level performance metrics and identify opportunities to enhance returns and mitigate risk.
- Partner with acquisitions, development, project management, leasing, finance, and capital markets teams.
- Provide strategic recommendations on portfolio construction, asset-level initiatives, and investment decisions.
- Evaluate portfolio risks and opportunities using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Support investment committee processes.
- Lead the preparation of investor communications, reporting packages, and presentation materials.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism in investor communications.
- Support fundraising initiatives by providing portfolio analytics and performance data.
- Collaborate with global teams and investors on reporting requirements.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
- Lead internal workstreams and cross-functional projects.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Support the professional growth of team members.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in real estate investment, portfolio management, asset management, acquisitions, private equity real estate, or related investment fields.
- Strong understanding of the full real estate investment lifecycle.
- Experience working with institutional-quality investment platforms, funds, or large-scale real estate portfolios.
- Exposure to investor reporting, governance frameworks, and fiduciary responsibilities.
Skills
- Advanced financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
- Strong understanding of portfolio management metrics (IRR, cash flow forecasting, return attribution, performance benchmarking).
- Ability to evaluate investment risks and opportunities from strategic and financial perspectives.
- Native-level Japanese.
- Business-level English.
