About the Role

Ada Infrastructure is seeking a VP/Director, Design & Engineering to lead the design and engineering strategy for a portfolio of data center developments across multiple sites in Japan. This role ensures projects align with global design standards, drives innovation, and oversees mission-critical development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and engineering strategy for a portfolio of data center developments across multiple sites in Japan.
  • Ensure all projects align with Ada's global design standards, technical requirements, and long-term development objectives.
  • Drive innovation, consistency, and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish scalable engineering processes and standards to support platform growth and future expansion.
  • Oversee multiple mission-critical development projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to support successful execution.
  • Develop performance metrics and reporting frameworks to improve project visibility and decision-making.
  • Lead project reviews and governance processes to ensure consistent execution standards across all developments.
  • Integrate global design strategies and engineering standards into local project execution.
  • Leverage in-depth market knowledge to guide design decisions, consultant selection, procurement strategies, budgeting, and project scheduling.
  • Drive standardization and repeatability across projects to improve procurement efficiency, cost predictability, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and sustainable design practices.
  • Partner closely with Construction, Development, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and other business functions.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering objectives and broader project, commercial, and investment goals.
  • Support major business decisions through technical expertise and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to maintain best practices and consistency across the platform.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing design and engineering team.
  • Manage and coach project managers and engineering professionals to deliver exceptional project outcomes.
  • Establish clear performance objectives, KPIs, and development plans.
  • Drive recruitment efforts and build organizational capabilities to support future growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, customers, and industry partners.
  • Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer requirements.
  • Represent Ada within the data center ecosystem and contribute to strengthening the company's market presence.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
