About the Role
As a Freelance Sports Production Manager (360° Immersive), you will plan, steer, and operationally deliver immersive sports productions at L1VE, from project outline to on-site execution. Your focus is to manage reliable production processes, combining strong operational execution with attention to quality, budget, and timing. You will support one or several productions in parallel as a freelancer.
Responsibilities
- Own the planning, coordination, and on-site execution of immersive sports productions.
- Take end-to-end responsibility across the full production lifecycle, including timelines, budgets, quality standards, and operations.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams across Tech, Content & Creation, Brand Partnerships, and Post-Production.
- Oversee production logistics, resource planning, and crew scheduling in collaboration with the Tech department and Production Assistant.
- Create, manage, and monitor project budgets, tracking costs and addressing deviations.
- Identify risks early and develop pragmatic solutions in dynamic, time-critical environments.
- Lead and support production teams on site through clear, appreciative, and solution-focused communication.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders as an external partner, ensuring transparency on timelines, costs, and dependencies across multiple projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in sports production, broadcast production, or live event production.
- Proven experience in budget planning and budget ownership for production projects.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid experience in production planning and control, from cost estimates to final reconciliation.
- Familiarity with PM and production tools (e.g., Notion, Asana, Google Workspace, or industry-specific software).
- Strong understanding of live sports environments, including last-minute changes and high-pressure situations.
- Ideally, prior experience working in a freelance or project-based setup.
- Strong hands-on mentality and high drive to execute.
- High stress resilience, remaining clear, solution-oriented, and reliable under pressure.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Passion for sports and immersive entertainment.
- Empathy and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on weekends and evenings on site.
- Degree or vocational training in Sports Management, Media/Event Production, Broadcast, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Set up as a freelancer (self-employed) and able to collaborate on a project basis.
- Very good German and English skills (at least fluent, ideally C1 level), written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of your time.
