About the Role
This is a high-impact role in a complex industrial environment, ideal for someone who can influence, engage, and drive continuous improvement. You will lead a site-wide safety vision, maintain a robust auditing system, implement behavioural safety programmes, conduct high-quality investigations, and manage fire protection, contractor management, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead a site-wide safety vision that aligns with global H&S ambitions.
- Maintain a robust auditing system to ensure risks are controlled and improvement areas identified.
- Implement behavioural safety programmes that genuinely shift mindsets.
- Conduct high-quality investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage fire protection, contractor management, and compliance across a complex industrial and port-based environment.
- Engage across departments, functions, and global EHS networks.
- Support Plaistow site during absences or incidents.
- Build strong partnerships across operations, commercial teams, and global EHS networks.
- Provide regular safety performance reports to regional and corporate EHS leaders.
- Ensure group standards are embedded locally.
- Collaborate with the Environment Manager, covering each other when needed.
Requirements
- Experienced in either heavy industry or Manufacturing.
- Understand high-risk environments.
- Ability to influence without forcing.
- Communicate clearly, confidently, and with emotional intelligence.
